Casa Grande Overview
The town of Casa Grande, population of about 20,000 is located 30 miles south of Chandler along Interstate 10 going south towards Tucson. Casa Grande is primarily an agricultural community nearby the Casa Grande Indian Ruins National Monument and Picacho Peak area attractions. It is also home to the world famous Francisco Grande Hotel and Golf Resort originally built by the San Francisco Giants as its prior spring training home.

Casa Grande Ruins
Over a thousand years ago the prehistoric Hohokam Indian farmed in this area of present day Casa Grande Arizona. The European settlers that followed discovered the remains of this ancient culture including an extravagant network of hand-built irrigation canals, village ruins and artifacts. The “Big House”, one of the largest and most mysterious structures built by ancient peoples of long ago is among the ruins. The ruins are an archeological preserve and a protected national monument. It is one of the most popular attractions in the Casa Grande area.
